Lemonade Stand

It happens every year. The kids want to have a lemonade stand and they ask consistently until you let it happen. I finally caved in yesterday. I wanted them to have it later in the afternoon so there would be more kids around and since we didn't have any ball games last night, it worked out great.

I thought they were crazy for wanting to do it yesterday considering it was so hot and the heat index was in triple digits, but hey, they're kids and if it's something they really want to do, heat doesn't scare them away too easily.

When we did this last year, I had made monster cookies for them to sell as well, but I didn't have the energy to make any cookies this time around. Cookies might have been ready to go if they would've waited until the weekend to do it, but patience isn't their thing :)

I'm glad we did it. They have so much fun and it's something memorable for them. They even get excited about making their sign. Madison did the pitcher and glass, Noah did the balloon and dots, and I believe the unidentified object at the top was probably Summer's work of art.

Since we finished that project yesterday, I should be off the hook for a lemonade stand until next summer. Now onto the next fun project, whatever that may end up being!

Ice Cream Man

Something new to us while living in the Bloomington/Normal area is that we have ice cream trucks that come around our neighborhoods on Saturdays. And, of course, they are complete with music playing while they drive around to entice the kids to check it out.

My kids love it and I have let them get frozen treats a couple times since we've been here. Below is a picture of them trying to figure out what they want. And yes, two of them are still in pajamas. It was one of those days :)

Now to relax and enjoy the goodness of ice cream on a warm day. And it seems as if everyone is looking at Madison as if she's a little crazy (she does take after her dad, you know :)).
